Beautiful sculptures, gargoyles, and architectural flourishes have decorated buildings for millennia, but the tools and techniques used to produce them are shrouded in mystery. In this one-of-a-kind workshop, participants will learn the fundamentals of traditional stone carving and then chisel and carve their own block of stone. The resulting sculpture may not turn out to be a masterpiece, but anyone taking this workshop will never look at a stone carving the same way again and will come to understand why humans have been obsessed with shaping stone for thousands of years.
Early Booking Exclusively for Academy Fellows*
Through October 10, Fellows can purchase a ticket for $100 (a $750 value each that includes tuition, lunches, and stone carving supplies). Space is very limited!
*You are a Fellow of The Academy for Teachers if you have been accepted to, and attended, an in-person master class.
