The Academy commissions distinguished authors to write about the teachers who made the most difference in their lives. We publish these stories in charming chapbooks that we mail to our Fellows to cheer them on, and to our supporters as a reminder that teachers change lives.

We then post them online here, in the order that they appeared, for all the world to see.

Teachers, our most valuable resource, are struggling. Overwhelmed and under-supported, too many teachers leave the profession too soon. The Academy’s enriching experiences and supportive community have been proven to improve those odds.
