Rehearsal: Wednesdays, 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m.; Performance: December 10

Teachers in our chorus come together from schools all over the city to make a joyful noise. This informal chorus, under the direction of Young People’s Chorus conductor Amber Salladin, will present a mixed repertoire. No previous choral experience is necessary and an ability to read music isn’t required. All we look for is a desire to sing and a commitment to attend rehearsals leading up to the concert at Carnegie Hall on December 10.

Amber Salladin is the principal conductor of the Young People’s Chorus Goddard Riverside Community Chorus as well as a conductor in YPC’s school choruses program. A native of Southern California, Amber holds a bachelor of music education degree from Wheaton College as well as a master’s degree in choral conducting from the University of Southern California. She lived overseas for twelve years, working as a conductor, accompanist, arranger, music teacher, singer, and church musician in Vancouver, Canada and London, England. She is the music director of Emmanuel Anglican Church in New York City’s West Village, as well as the principal pianist of the New York Session Symphony.
