Shakespeare in the Park
Oskar Eustis, one of the most important figures in American theater today, is the director of the Public Theater’s Julius Caesar for Shakespeare in the Park. Before the performance, he will meet with Academy Fellows to discuss his interpretation of the play, which he says “has never felt more contemporary.” Eustis has been The Public Theater’s visionary Artistic Director since 2005. Throughout his career, as director, dramaturg, and producer, he has played a central role in bringing to the stage Angels in America, Hamilton, and Fun Home, among many other major dramatic works. He is also Professor of Dramatic Writing and Arts and Public Policy at New York University.
