Tenor saxophonist Ron Blake is a member of NBC’s Saturday Night Live Band and serves on the faculty at the Juilliard School. His discography numbers over 60 recordings as a guest and sideman and four recordings as a leader. He has worked with many masters, including Art Farmer and Roy Haynes. He recently won a Grammy as a member of Christian McBride’s Big Band and received recognition from the U.S. Congress and the Virgin Islands Legislature for his commitment to education and his music accomplishments.
Keyboardist Marc Cary has released more than a dozen albums as a bandleader, and recorded with such figures as Q-Tip, David Murray, Clark Terry, and Roy Hargrove. A longtime accompanist of the late singer Abbey Lincoln, Cary has won the Billboard/BET award for “Best New Jazz Artist” and the DownBeat Critics Poll for “Rising Star Keyboardist.”
