Food is one of life’s great pleasures but its delights mask dire problems. This Master Class will look at ways we might “un-invent” a system of food production and consumption that is damaging to health, socially unjust, cruel to animals, destructive of the environment, and shockingly wasteful.

Mark Bittman, one of the world’s most respected food experts, was for years a columnist for The New York Times, where he also starred in popular cooking videos. The author of many bestselling cookbooks, including How to Cook Everything, Vegan Before 6 p.m., and How to Cook Everything Fast, Bittman is the recipient of the International Association of Culinary Professionals, the Julia Child, and the James Beard Awards.
